Shedden Clough Hushings

Quite at the back young Knipe ! (see what I did there) If we keep having these sunny days they'll no doubt tax or ban them ! so I made the most of today by exploring the area a mile south of last Thursdays - Hurstwood Luner Landscape. Hurstwood resevoir is in the trees at (H) with Cant Clough reservoir at (C)

Today parked in the car park and set off downhill

soon onto the Bridalway which I presume was one of the old pack horse routes

spotted a likely Bistro spot just above the right post and a view of Pendle Hill looking down the valley

The Bear opened the wine a 2010 Californian Merlot from Paso Robels - founded  by Blackburn and Drury James 1873 (uncle to Jesse James)

then it was heat up some of last nights whole wheat ( fusilli) pasta and home made bollenaise made with our chillies (cayenne) and a trial of fresh turmeric root (yellow)

when hot the water used to make a brew Russian Caravan tea and a chunk of Carrot cake, it's a hard life !

eaten out of the roasting bag No washing up !

Hurstwood Luner landscape

For the first time in what seems like weeks, awoke to blue sky and sunshine and having spent some birthday money on a new hat decided to give it a test run. Parked in the water board car park at Hirstwood, above Burnley,

I could hear the Wurduping ! from a 100 yards

making baby Frogs !

Sheltered spot at the Mark and grid ref. on the map, some of last nights curry and rice heated up in a roasting bag in 500ml water in a Crusader cooker running on x3 fuel tab's in a 2oz tobacco tin 1/2 full of jelled alcohol, this way it'll light with a spark and the lid makes it snuffable to use again

let boil till the food's hot then snuff with the lid, place the bag in the cup and add a tea bag to the (untainted) water to make a brew

noticed just one letter sticking out but peeled back the grass to reveal

Verdict on the hat - Superb !
