Woodlice like Sweet Potato

A Woodlouse is a crustacean from the monophyletic suborder Oniscidea within the Isopods. They are called that from being found in old wood. The first Woodlice were marine isopods which are presumed to have colonised land in the Carboniferous, a geologic period and system that spans 60 million years from the end of the Devonian Period 358.9 million years ago, to the beginning of the Permian Period, 298.9 million years ago
They tend to hide away in daylight but will come out to forage in 'blue light', this is fine for observing them but not for photographing. If you turn a white light on they all scurry back into hiding. They are very well programmed to respond in certain ways to stimuli in their environment, but do not "know" that they are Woodlice as opposed to anything else, nor do they make conscious decisions. They simply do not have the neural structures and apparatus that is required for such things. If they did think, they might have thought that there was a 'Flash of Lightning' last night !
as I fired the camera flash, as they ate their favorite meal of Sweet Potato
